Leman Russ Tank

Greetings! It's been a while since I've been able to post, but here I am now with photos of my latest work.

After months of sitting unattended on my desk, I finally finished up my Leman Russ.

I decided a long time ago that the Praetorian war machine utilized three metals: gold, silver, and bronze. It gives it a Victorian/Steampunk feel, I think.

Here's the stout tank commander! Thank to Col. Gravis' tutorial on the subject, I was able to sculpt the epaulettes to much success. The head actually comes from an Empire infantry set, but I thought that his look was just perfect!

Whoops...

Hey everyone!

I'm sorry I've not kept up with this blog, but the truth is that since school started I've had little time to work on the poud 32nd. With the coming of summer, though, I hope for that to change.

I've finally started working on my Sharpe figure at long last. I've sculpted the shako on him, and I have to say that I'm pleased with how it came out. The next step is to sculpt some hair to sort of fil the head out, but that's a task for when my finals are finished, hehe.

And upon re-watching "Gunga Din," I've decided that I want to have a squad/company of native levies. Just to add a bit more variety to my force.

Stay tuned! More updates to come hopefully!

Still Sharpe, Pt. II

Here I'm just going to give a quick little update of what I've been up to. Harris, Hagman, and Tongue are just about completed, and here's a little sneak peak.

As a special little surprise for everyone, I've begun work on and nearly finished my Teresa figure. She made from some vampire assassin figure I picked up. She's a bit more buxom that Assumpta Serna was, or than I would like, but I figured this might be what she looked like in the 40k 'verse. What think ye?

And finally, the model I intend for use as Sharpe has come in! I'm still not sure whether I want to sculpt a shako on him, or have a hatless figure. I'm thinking of the latter, since it was often Sharpe wore a cap in the series, but then there were plenty of times he did, too. And the powersword...how does that not say "Richard Sharpe?" Hehe.

Still Sharpe

Continuing with my Sharpe figures, I gave some serious thought to the idea. Sharpe himself is going to be the leader of a command squad, with Harper right there beside him. Then of course there's Hagman, Harris, Perkins, Cooper, Tongue, and Skillicorn there acting as snipers. Of those, one is done and three more await painting: I only need to make Perkins and Skillicorn now. Thus, it leads the question of who else to fill in the other two spaces in the squad proper. After some doodling and rough sketches, I came up with the answer: Captain Frederickson and everyone's favorite guerilla, Teresa Moreno; Sharpe's first wife. "Sweet William" will prove easy enough I think, but Teresa poses a bigger problem. I just bought a figure on eBay that I hope will work, but we'll see.

I've also had a thought to make a traitor Imperial Guard force; e.g. "Sharpe's Enemy." And who better to lead that pack of dirty scoundrels than Obediah Hakeswill? That one's a project for the future, though, hehe.

Francis Cooper

Cooper's all-but-done now. I just need to add the terrain to the base and make his hair a tad bit darker.

"Chosen Men, to me!"

Moving right along with the 95th Rifles, I present my progress pics of Tongue, Hagman, and Harris.

I'm already planning out what I want to do with Sharpe and Harper, but that's to be another post for another time.

Chosen Man Cooper

After some free time tonight, I'm pleased to report some real progress on my Cooper figure. More pics to come!
